When choosing a new ERP system, companies need to look beyond short term requirements. Paul Dallimer, Managing Director, Shop@PhysioWorld explains the importance of best of breed software for SMEs – the value that Sage’s software development partners offer to a growing business.
From my perspective, when you put in an ERP for any business, but especially for a growing business, the mind-set has to be best of breed. In addition to Sage 200 covering the core business functions we need at Shop@PhysioWorld – in spades – the great thing about Sage is this ecosystem of partners and add-ons. Three great examples of this extended software model include:
One of the most essential pieces of software that has been key to building the technology stack required for a successful online business is Data Exchange from Eureka. Also supplied and supported by CPiO, Data Exchange takes information from multiple sales channels, including eBay and Amazon as well as the website, directly into Sage 200.
This year the business also plans to implement Spindle Document Capture, a document scanning software solution for capturing, archiving and retrieving documents within Sage 200 such as quotations and invoices. With 10,000 invoices generated each month, the business is already drowning in paper. Looking forward, the plan is to grow to around 30,000 invoices a month over the next year and efficient data capture is going to be essential to streamline processes and ensure customer queries can be rapidly and efficiently addressed.
Integrating a WMS with Sage 200 will enable Shop@PhysioWorld to gain even greater control over the end to end business process. All products are already barcoded, so adding scanning and WMS is an obvious step. Embedding the creation of all dispatch labels with picking documentation, will deliver further efficiencies and time savings.
Getting the timing right for such investments is often tricky for fast growing organisations – and that is one of the key values of the Sage 200 investment. Sage 200 offers that essential depth of functionality from day one, plus the ecosystem of add on products that can provide all the additional functionality we need to support our aggressive growth plans.
The transition to Sage ERP 1000 v4 has been very smooth, with very little or no disruption to the users.
Moving on from Sage Line 50 to Sage 200 was the most logical option for us. As a company we were already familiar with Sage and CPiO’s ability to work with our bespoke database provider gave us the assurance we needed. We had found the right partner to make the change with.
CPiO took the time to understand our business processes and fully appreciate our requirements of a CRM system
