End of the road for Sage Line 100

End of mainstream support for Sage Line 100 – what does this mean?

On September 30th 2012 Sage will withdraw its mainstream support for Sage Line 100 in order to focus on its research and development and support of the Sage 200 suite, which has more advanced software features and customisation tools – Sage 200 is the flagship solution for the growing business.

Beyond the 30th September 2012 Line 100 users will still be able to get:

Additional users and modules added to Line 100
Enable strings (through business partners)
Technical support

What will not be available after this date though will be:
Developer support
Legislative updates
Hot fixes, bug fixes, patch updates and service packs
Wish list, defect log

The most natural route for Sage Line 100 customers wishing to migrate to a more up-to-date package is the Sage 200 Suite; however in many cases other Sage products (for example: Sage ERP 1000, or Sage ERP X3) may be more suitable for the business processes they use today.

Having done many Sage Line 100 upgrades we are aware of the processes and procedures that are required to ensure a successful upgrade to Sage 200, which is the main software platform of choice for sage Line 100 sites looking to upgrade. But we also understand why you may be hesitant about moving because of things such as:

Complex business issues handled by Line 100 – Sage 200 with its increased functionality can lend itself to most business types and processes to offer a complete solution

Creaking hardware/ worried about cost of a hardware refresh – with the cost of hardware reducing each year you can now replace or install a new server for as little as £2,000

Expensive software costs – as an existing Sage Line 100 customer you are entitled to a like for like upgrade on your software for just £2,000. If you have a 10 user commercials package on line 100, you will get exactly the same on Sage 200
