J Salmon Limited, publishers of calendars and postcards, has upgraded from Sage CS/3 to Sage ERP 1000, supplied by Birmingham-based leading Sage business partner CPiO.

David Bradley, Company Secretary at J Salmon Limited, says, “We were previously using CS/3 alongside another database for order processing which was making it difficult for the company to share information as it wasn’t all stored in one place. The Windows-based Sage ERP 1000 solution from CPiO allows us to find information quickly and create reports instantly – you can have all the information on sales figures and orders at your fingertips in a matter of minutes.” “The software also allows us to enhance our order process. Currently, customers order by phone, email, fax or through our sales reps, so it’s important to keep track of orders coming in, items being dispatched from the warehouse and being received by clients. This helps us to improve business efficiencies and provide a higher level of customer service to our clients as we can tell them anything they need to know about their order, at any stage within the process.” J Salmon Limited currently employs 50 people – 36 at their headquarters in Sevenoaks, Kent, three at a satellite office in Ipswich and 11 reps, who travel around the UK. More than 90% of its customers are business-to-business, supplying to high profile retailers such as WH Smith and Waterstones as well as garden centres and smaller independent seaside retailers. The company has an annual turnover of £3.2 million. David adds, “There are lots of functions within Sage ERP 1000 that we aren’t currently using, but we are keen to explore.
