Founded in 1989, WoolOvers is a global supplier of all-natural knitwear with eight international websites and more than 120 employees.
As a growing business, WoolOvers was experiencing performance issues with its existing Sage 50 system, which it relied upon heavily for the company’s financial management and reporting. Sage 50 was unable to cope with the increasing demands of the business, in terms of both detailed reporting and budgeting. This created inefficiencies in the Finance team where there were many manual processes and workarounds. Sean Watherston, CFO at WoolOvers suggests, “There was too much time spent on processing data, rather than using the data to gain valuable insight into business performance. These issues were affecting our ability to make informed decisions and therefore it was time to move on.”
With a new management structure in place, WoolOvers explored a number of systems including Sage 200 and Microsoft Dynamics, but decided upon Sage X3 as a logical progression from Sage 50. WoolOvers felt it was important to go for a product that would easily cope with the growth plans of the business, as well as being easy to implement. ”We were keen to get a system for the long-term, that was strong and robust. We felt that Sage X3 had these capabilities.” WoolOvers also chose Sage X3 for its clever reporting abilities, which would allow them to gain quick, meaningful information to make effective, well-thought-out decisions.
