Trusted Midlands-based specialty catering butchers, E&P has served as Coventry’s premier meat supplier for over two decades, catering to a diverse range of establishments including pubs, hotels, restaurants, and educational institutions.
Established in 1998, E & P Catering Butchers has grown from a humble trio to a workforce of over 40 employees. The growing business required a financial accounting solution to meet the needs of its staff in supporting the business to deliver unparalleled quality and service to its customers.
Lou Alden-Court, Finance Manager at E&P Catering Butchers said, ‘Sage 50 Accounts had been our finance software for number of years; however, we started to find it slow and would frequently see data go missing. We found this frustrating, and the team was struggling to perform daily financial tasks.
Sage 50 could not be relied upon to support the substantial amounts of data we were inputting. E&P have a large volume of sales invoices and with 300 live customers on the sales ledger, it is a busy business - and growing.
Working in Sage 50 was very time-consuming, with a lot of manual processing. Data corruption was another challenge – lost data had to be manually re-processed, and its accuracy couldn’t always be guaranteed. ‘
Steve Goodwin, Sage 200 Account Manager at CPiO said, ‘E&P needed as little disruption as possible. The finance team are comfortable using Sage 50, so we advised a move to Sage 200, which would offer their business more control and flexibility. For users looking for familiarity, it has the most similar look and feel and is a natural upgrade from Sage 50.’
After a demo of Sage 200, E&P chose to work with CPiO to implement a more modern ERP solution. Sage 200 Standard was the ideal migration path from Sage 50, with the benefit of the company’s financial accounts being stored in the cloud, allowing data to be accessed from anywhere, at any time.
Lou Alden-Court, Finance Manager at E&P Catering Butchers concludes, ‘Fahad Ali, CPiO’s Sage 200 Consultant has been exceptional. The support we’ve had from the CPiO team to move onto a new software has been a huge comfort for us.
We worked with a third-party vendor to move our data over to Sage 200. CPiO had to restore the backup and ensure all our financial users were fully trained on the new software. The support team at CPiO were completely supportive and provided the provisioning, migration and go live assistance.
Fahad was available to offer all the testing required to go live. Overall, it was an exceptionally smooth and successful transition. ’Find out more about Sage 200 and read our customer case studies to see if the cloud-based accounting solution is the right fit for your business.
