Direct Debit payments for CPiO subscription billing
Frequently asked questions
-
Why is CPiO introducing Direct Debit?
Sage, as the software author, already uses Direct Debit as its standard method for collecting subscription payment from CPiO and for all direct customers across its portfolio.
To ensure consistency, improve efficiency, and align with Sage’s best practice approach, CPiO is now introducing Direct Debit for our own subscription billing. This brings our processes in line with the wider Sage ecosystem and ensures a smoother, more reliable experience for all customers. This means fewer manual payments, reduced administration and a more seamless billing process for your subscriptions.
-
What is a Direct Debit mandate?
A Direct Debit mandate is an authorised instruction that allows CPiO to collect your subscription payments automatically from your chosen bank account on an agreed billing date.
-
Will my subscription cost or billing schedule change?
No. Your subscription price and agreement terms remain exactly the same unless specifically agreed with us prior to set up of your Direct Debit Mandate. The only change is the method of payment.
-
What are the benefits of paying by Direct Debit?
Direct Debit offers several advantages to you as a CPiO customer:
- Automatic payments with no manual processing
- Reduced administration for your finance team
- No risk of service interruption due to missed or late payments
- Strong protection under the Direct Debit Guarantee
- No need to update card details when they expire or change
- Predictable, timely billing of your software services every cycle
-
Is Direct Debit safe?
Yes. Direct Debit is one of the most secure payment methods in the UK. All payments are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee, which ensures you are refunded immediately in the rare event of an error.
-
What is the Direct Debit Guarantee?
The Direct Debit Guarantee protects you against incorrect or unauthorised payments. If a payment is taken in error, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund from your bank.
-
How do I set up my Direct Debit mandate?
You’ll receive a secure link from CPiO to complete your mandate online. It only takes a couple of minutes and requires basic bank account details. On receipt of your completed mandate, CPiO will arrange this for you.
-
When will the first Direct Debit payment be taken?
Once your mandate is set up, we'll confirm by email. Your next subscription payment will then be collected automatically on a confirmed billing date connected to the renewal of your software.
-
Will I still receive invoices?
Yes. You'll continue to receive invoices as normal for your records and internal processes.
Your Direct Debit mandate only relates to your software subscription services or cloud services. CPiO service time will still be invoiced as per the terms and conditions of your agreement with us. A copy of CPiO's Terms and Conditions can be found here: CPiO Terms and Conditions | Conditions of Agreement | CPiO

-
Can I cancel my Direct Debit mandate?
Yes. You can cancel your mandate at any time through your bank. If you do cancel, please let us know so we can arrange an alternative payment method and avoid any disruption to your service from CPiO.

Do I need to sign a new contract?
