Sage Foundation marks 10 years of global impact

Written by CPiO Limited | Jul 24, 2025 8:40:53 AM

Sage Foundation is celebrating a decade of meaningful change, having raised an outstanding £4million and logged 1.3million volunteering hours since its launch in 2015.

Aligned with Sage’s vision of empowering small and medium-sized businesses, which account for approximately 90% of companies worldwide, the Foundation operates on three fronts:

  • Paid volunteering days for all colleagues.
  • Regular fundraising initiatives to support diverse causes, from natural disaster relief to personal charitable events.
  • Product discounts to help non-profit organisations scale using Sage software such as Sage Intacct.

2024 strategy shift: Deeper focus on skills & sustainability

In late 2024, Sage Foundation refined its strategy to concentrate on:

  • Empowering underserved SMBs to build more sustainable businesses through grants, training, mentorship and product support.
  • Delivering digital skills - especially AI - for young people and communities via bootcamps and workshops  .

Speaking of the anniversary, Helen Devanny, VP of Sage Foundation, says, “Reaching our 10 year anniversary shows what a critical role social impact can play. By focusing on underserved entrepreneurs and technology education we can scale our impact through our collective skills, expertise and resources.”

Karl Webb, CPiO Financial Director and Sage Foundation volunteer has been involved with the Foundation for several years. He comments, “Becoming a Sage Foundation volunteer is genuinely rewarding. It’s a pleasure to have the opportunity to apply my skills beyond my day job to support a charitable cause.”

He continues, “As a business, CPiO supports charities in many ways; not just through fundraisers but also supporting their financial operations with discounted software and complementary tools and services. I’m proud to be a part of the Sage Foundation and able to back non-profits in this way - as well as personally volunteering. I hope to stay involved for many more years to come.”

Karl joined several other CPiO volunteers and the wider Sage community at a recent Sage ‘Big Day Out’. Read about their day on our news page.

Sage Foundation’s ten-year journey highlights a powerful model. It combines technology, corporate time and funding to create meaningful impact. The renewed focus on digital skills and sustainability reflects global trends and offers a template for companies seeking to drive real-world change.
