Sage releases Sage 200 Professional 2023 R1

Sage has announced the release of Sage 200 Professional 2023 R1. This latest release from Sage showcases several new features as voted for by customers on the Sage Ideas Hub, with improvements on Sage API endpoints and greater migration tools. Sage is certain that these new developments will be effective in improving customer experience, increasing productivity and providing greater levels of automation.

Need to find out what version of Sage 200 you are running and the current support status?

We have provided a detailed breakdown of what you can expect from the new enhancements of the Sage 200 2023 R1 release:

Additional import capabilities to automate  accounting tasks: With this new extension, users can import journals from spreadsheets and other systems. There is no longer the need to complete manual processing once an import has been completed for costly development solutions. You can now produce them on a mass scale, make changes via Microsoft® Excel and add them to data. Another improvement is the creation of journals in Microsoft® Excel and the ability to import them into Sage 200. This upgraded feature will save users time when importing data into Sage 200.
Lessen the admin burden within AP/AR processes: There is now an allocation date setting which adapts to business demands allowing users to select a payment date and set this as the default allocation date.
Increase flexibility for warehouse or stock changes: Improve productivity when modifying stock with the addition of the stock record import/export feature. This will allow users to change stock records including low stock levels, set warehouses and the ability to delete any warehouses from stock records on the fly without needing any scripts or trade developments.
Increase the communication flow within your purchasing operations: The addition of the alert/notification feature enables users to share important messages with employees to support order creation and ensure that key notifications of supplier details, which assist with purchase orders, are received. This can be found on both the browser and desktop user interface, if users are migrating from Sage 50, any sales ledger alerts will also be transferred to Sage 200.
Improve your migration journey from Sage 50 to Sage 200: Sage has created a new migration process to assist with moving from Sage 50 to Sage 200. Data can be transferred with minimal interruptions as to not disrupt your normal business activities. Adjustments have also been made to field sizes and migration tools to ensure that stock details also fully migrate to Sage 200.
Reprint runtime reports instantly: Users now have an extra printing option when managing any previous year journal entries to provide consistency across the Sage user face.
Create a simpler and more varied automation process: The extension of the API allows a bigger ecosystem of applications (ISV Solutions) which improves workflows and provides a greater level of automation. The improvement of the Sage 200 API ensures the seamless notion of data sharing and process automation between Sage 200 and other applications to improve user experience.
Ensure migrations are seamless: If Sage 50 no longer meets a customers needs or they are looking for a more superior system than Sage 200 standard, Sage has now created a simpler migration system that allows customers to migrate from Sage 50 from Sage 200 which can also assist with down-scaling. The new migration system creates a seamless process whilst ensuring that customers can continue to use the software with ease and minimal interruption to ensure business continuity. Increase flexibility within monitoring, tracking analysis codes (for Sage 200 Standard and Education only): Sage 200 Standard or Education customers can enjoy features which were previously for Sage 200 Professional only. Customers can now benefit from an increase of analysis codes – up to 20. Analysis codes can provide an additional method of grouping and reporting on accounts, stock transactions, BOM records and sales and purchase documents. These provide additional fields that allow the input of accounts and records which will allow further business analysis.

With the release of Sage 200 2023 R1, Sage expects user experience to be greatly improved with new features and updates included for both Sage 200 Standard and Sage 200 Professional. Find out more about the release of Sage 200 Professional 2023 R1 here.
